2008 Committee Description
Report/review pertinent issues to retail members of ACCJ. Assist ACCJ [through persistency of discussions etc.] to recruit additional retail members.

2008 Committee Objectives

• Initiate new committee into ACCJ and add a new membership opportunity
• Bring forward issues of interest/concern to the retail industry
• Create a network within retail and shoulder industry to share information
• Expand American retail business in Japan by sharing ways of serving Japanese clients more effectively.

• SEMINAR: JAPANESE LABOR LAW: THE DEFINITION OF EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT STATUS Worked with HR committee to update members on Japanese labor law
• SEMINAR SERIES: TRENDS IN JAPAN RETAIL: ADVICE FOR FOREIGN BRANDS
• #1 Retail leasing/purchasing/market development updates from 3 respected leaders; 
  
• #2 Understanding the success in Japan and the International market of UNI QLO
• #3 E-Commerce with focus on Start Today/ZoZoTown shared-site paradigm
• Creates a nascent network of retailers and retail related companies within the ACCJ.
