In recent years, the Abe Administration has issued numerous Private Finance Initiative (PFI) concessions to promote the building of public infrastructure in Japan. These public-private partnerships have allowed companies, including foreign-owned companies, to operate several large scale developments, such as Kansai International Airport and Hamamatsu City water supply services.
The PFI concession process has important implications for foreign-owned companies in Japan. In fact, it is expected that a similar PFI process will be conducted to select the operator of the upcoming Integrated Resorts (IR) project.
The IR Task Force is delighted to host two experts from EY to help ACCJ Members better understand this PFI concession operator selection process in Japan and to identify potential investment opportunities.
Taichi Hasegawa, Partner at EY Japan and the leader of the Airport Advisory Team, will provide context and insights on the airport operator selection process in Japan. Yasuhiro Maeda, Executive Director of the IR office at EY Japan, has specialized expertise on the Kansai Airport project, and will provide a comparison of the airport operator and IR selection processes.
Please join us for this opportunity to gain valuable insights on this important process and its implications for the IR industry in Japan.
