Millennials are much of a mystery to their elders in today’s workplaces. And vice versa. HR professionals have their hands full attracting and retaining incoming talent while young employees struggle to find a suitable career path and work-life balance. As if the generation gap were not challenge enough, international companies in Japan face a culture where millennials are in many ways poles apart from their Western contemporaries.
It’s about time we sat down and talked this through.
We’ve organized a diverse panel of participants eager to do just that. Representing HR management is Zane Zumbahien, VP, Human Resources Japan, IBM together with Claudette Byers, MetLife Insurance, Director and SEO, Chief Human Resources Officer. Comprising the millennial contingent are Shigenori Funabiki, BMW Group Japan, Chiaya Hasegawa, IT Consulting and Technology Divisions, en world and Hoyumi Yashiro, EY Advisory & Consulting Co., Ltd.
Members of the panel will share their expectations, hopes and concerns regarding careers, the hiring process, work/life balance and the employee/employer relationship. Their mission is to get to understand each other better, and to find -- and share with us -- ways to work together more effectively.
Join us for what promises to be a fascinating first-hand look into one of our most pressing workforce issues.
