Ms. Kawai joined the Bank of Japan in 2003. Prior to joining the Bank, she worked at the Chase Manhattan Group (currently JPMorgan Chase) in Tokyo and in New York. She has an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Kyoto University.
