What should you do with your money in Japan? Personal finance is difficult enough in English, let alone in Japanese. Japan has several excellent options for retirement savings, but they are not well known or understood by the general public. Join our guest speaker Ben Shearon as he explores the advantages of different saving and investment vehicles in Japan, and their differences depending on your country of origin. Topics will include:
- NISA/Regular Savings
- The National Pension system (Nenkin)
- Medium and small business association savings
Ben Shearon founded and actively maintains the website RetireJapan.info, which provides practical information on investment, savings, and taxation issues for expats in Japan. Mr. Shearon is originally from Germany but claims a U.K. citizenship, and has lived in Spain, the U.K., and China.
RetireJapan is an online community working since 2013 to share ideas and knowledge about personal finance in Japan.
