The Aerospace and Defense Committee provides a venue for addressing issues of interest to the member companies, which are U.S. aerospace manufacturing companies. The member companies of the Committee represent an annual US$3-4 billion U.S. aerospace goods and services trade surplus with Japan.
The Committee primarily serves as a venue for exchanges between U.S. aerospace manufacturers with high-level U.S. and Japan government officials to discuss issues of interest regarding U.S.-Japan government aerospace policy, programs, and exchanges. It occasionally hosts speaker programs open to the ACCJ general membership on issues of public interest, ranging from commercial aviation to defense to space. While attendance at some committee events may be open to the general membership and member guests, committee membership requires approval from the Chair.
