61st CWAJ Print Show
Contemporary Japanese Print Exhibition and Sale
October 25–29, 2017 at HILLSIDE FORUM in Daikanyama  

Since its inception in 1956, the CWAJ Print Show has become a highly acclaimed and internationally recognized event. Entering its seventh decade, the annual juried show relocates this year to the light-filled gallery space at HILLSIDE FORUM in Daikanyama, a leafy upscale neighborhood vibrant with art galleries, stylish cafes and restaurants.
 
The 61st CWAJ Print Show features 209 prints, all but a few produced after 2015, by 203 renowned artists including 29 first-time CWAJ Print Show exhibitors. The exhibition encompasses a wide range of styles, themes and techniques such as woodblock, intaglio, lithography and silkscreen. Prices range from ¥5,000 to ¥300,000. Young talent is well represented in this comprehensive show along with masterpieces by doyens of the Japanese printmaking scene, including a rare new lithograph by Toko Shinoda.
 
Proceeds from the CWAJ Print Show will go to CWAJ Scholarship and Fukushima Relief Projects.

The "Belgian Beer Weekend" is the finest occasion to explore the Belgian beer culture, which was recently recognized by UNESCO as a Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Returning to Tokyo for the 8th time with 107 different Belgian beers, BBW is THE event about Belgian beer, Belgian cuisine, amazing live music and a superb atmosphere.

The BLCCJ is honoured to announce a Breakfast Meeting with Belgian top economist Bruno COLMANT, Ph.D., M.S., CFA, FRM, member of the Belgian Royal Academy.
Shaping Europe for Tomorrow. Together. When challenges become opportunities.
The European Union is at a crossroad on its path to economic and political unification following the Brexit and the US election: the time has come to rethink the European union. In the frame of a political renewal, a new Europe must, and will, find a new political spirit that will lead to more political, budgetary and monetary cogency and strength.

Bruno Colmant will share with us his analysis and outlook for the European Union of tomorrow.

2017 Minato Citizen’s University at Temple University, Japan Campus (TUJ) “35 Years of Adventures and Challenges“

To commemorate its 35th anniversary in Japan, Temple University, Japan Campus will present a series of five lectures on the theme of "35 years."
In 1982, Japan was in the midst of an unprecedented economic boom, the Soviet Union was one half of bilateral in this world, and internet was just a dream.
After just 35 years we have a whole new world.
In this series, TUJ faculty will examine what the past 35 years has meant in the context of their areas or expertise.

Dates:       October 25, 27, 31 and November 6, 8
Time:        19:00-20:30 (doors open at 18:30)
Venue:      Temple University, Japan Campus, Azabu Hall 1F, Parliament
Cost:         2,500 yen for five lectures.

横田基地日米友好祭2017

在日米空軍横田基地の一部を開放して日米の交流・友好を深める。毎年恒例の一大イベントです。
イベント開催中は、米軍、自衛隊等の航空機の地上展示、屋内外ステージ演出(両日とも10:00~20:00頃まで)、9月18日(日)20:20からの打ち上げ花火、食べ物やグッズ、ゲームの露店などを楽しむことができます。

【飛行機展示】
横田基地にはアメリカ空軍の第374空輸航空団があり、例年、C-130H、UH-1N、C-12Jなどが展示されます。また、陸海空の3自衛隊からも航空機が展示されます。
その他、空からパラシュートが降りてきたりと様々なイベントが満載。
模擬店では、アメリカンフード(ハンバーガー、ホットドッグ、ピザ、チップス、ステーキ)、そしておみやげ品(Tシャツ、帽子、タオル、など)が出店。
屋外ステージでは、例年、米空軍太平洋音楽隊他、ロック、ポップスなどの音楽ライブ、極真空手や横田西多摩工イサー太鼓の演舞などが披露されます。
※ゲートは09:00~20:00まで一般開門。
※16歳以上の方は、国籍を証明する写真付き身分証明書(パスポート、運転免許証、住民基本台帳カード、マイナンバーカード)の提示が必要。
※未成年者の安全のため、17歳以下の方のみでの基地入場には、必ず18歳以上(高校生は不可)の引率が必要。
※入場に際して、ゲートで手荷物の検査を行うことがあります。大型手荷物、アルコール飲料、ガラス瓶類、クーラーボックス等は持ち込み出来ません。ペット等の動物を連れての入場不可(介助犬等は事前にご確認下さい)。

【花火】
9月18日(日)20:20から約20分間、日米友好祭のフィナーレを飾る花火の打ち上げがあります。なお、ゲート入場は20:00までなので、花火を鑑賞したい方は閉門時間までに!
