Improving U.S. - Japan Business Relations

The ACCJ maintains a close working relationship with the U.S. government, as a means of continually improving U.S. - Japan relations and promoting the interests of American and other non-Japanese investors. The ACCJ's interaction with the U.S. government includes a monthly briefing with the U.S. Ambassador, frequent contact with Embassy officials acting as liaisons to ACCJ committees, and regular consultations with government officials visiting from Washington.

The annual Washington, D.C. Doorknock also keeps the ACCJ in the loop on important developments in U.S. - Japan relations and provides the U.S. government with valuable input on policy prescriptions from ACCJ members actively doing business in Japan. The D.C. Doorknock is a coordinated advocacy effort in which selected ACCJ leaders accompany the Chamber President to Washington D.C. to provide policy-makers with information to improve U.S. - Japan relations and enhance the business environment in Japan for U.S. companies.
