Advocating on Behalf of Nagoya Business
The Chubu region in Japan, and especially its main commercial center Nagoya, is an important hub for business in Japan. The ACCJ-Chubu chapter is active in the Nagoya business community, which boasts major players in industries such as aerospace, automotive and manufacturing. Many foreign companies, both large and small, work alongside Japanese companies here.
One of the main goals of the ACCJ-Chubu is to make Chubu an easier place for foreign enterprises to do business. The Chamber works directly with The Chubu Bureau of Economy, Trade and Industry, having enjoyed a close working relationship for many years. Through these interactions, the ACCJ-Chubu is able to work with the Japanese government to encourage more foreign direct investment in Chubu.
Recent initiatives have focused on the following recommendations for Nagoya business:
- Promoting Entrepreneurialism
- Encouraging Manufacturing and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI)
- Emphasizing Quality of Life
- Inspiring Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- Exploiting Diversity
