The idea for the ACCJ KISS Charity Concert was born in 2009 when the ACCJ-Kansai received a generous offer from the Canadian Academy to use its facilities, and a concert to benefit the students and local community was deemed to be the best use. Since its inauguration, the concert continues to attract amateur and professional talent amongst the student population and from the local community; It has become a highly-anticipated event each year.
Proceeds of the charity concert go to support two local non-profit organizations: the Child Chemo House and Kodomo no Ie. These beneficiaries were selected not only because they help children, but also because they agreed to work hand-in-hand with KISS students so that the students' involvement would not be driven solely by monetary donations, but also by a genuine desire for each KISS volunteer to directly help children in need.
