METI has been working to address how to deal with the diminished electricity supply and will present members with an overview of what will be required from users this summer. Who is required to cut electricity? How will reductions be enforced? When will the plan be implemented? Mr. Setsuo Iuchi, Deputy Director-General, Economic and
Industrial Policy Bureau, METI, will provide answers to these questions.
In addition, the Energy & Environment Committee chairs will present key results from their April energy survey, including the extent of the potential impact on business, main areas of concern, and examples of energy reduction steps that have already been taken by your fellow members. They will also share their "Top 5" list of energy conservation measures you can consider for your home or office this summer.
