This event is a must for anyone wanting to get a hand on Japan's

post-3/11 healthcare consumer pulse beat. The presentation will draw on

post-3/11 studies conducted by Synovate and incorporate data from

several other Japanese language sources. Among these, a 3,000 nationwide

physician survey including physicians in the disaster areas, plus a

1,000 patient/general population survey (nationwide excluding the

disaster areas). Topics covered will include, among others, information

sources used by physicians and patients including social media,

evaluation of the credibility and usefulness of such sources, concerns

regarding stability of the supply of medicines, mental health issues

arising since the earthquake, physician evaluation of promotional

jishuku (self-restraint) by pharma companies, changes in physician

preference for e-detailing versus MRs, plus general consumer feedback on

the desire to spend money, end jishuku, and get the economy back on

track.

William Hall has some 40 years' experience in business in Japan, having

served as President of the Japan subsidiaries of two Fortune 500

companies, as well as having worked in market research and consulting.

An Australian national, his presentations are known for being both

educational and insightful, but at the same time tinged with humor and

an occasional politically-incorrect aside. He has not spoken at an ACCJ

event for several years, and his previous ACCJ presentations were all

sold-out affairs; so this is a rare opportunity to hear the views of one

of the leading Western experts in the field.

Note: ACCJ events are for ACCJ members and their guests only. To learn more about becoming an ACCJ member, see the Membership section of this site or contact the Membership Services Department at info@accj.or.jp / (03) 3433-7304.
