The Asia Business Committee will be holding a general committee meeting on June 15th to get things in place for the second half 2012.

1. Overview of recent committee activities including the committee participation in the APCAC summit, the very interesting luncheon speech from Venkataraman Sriram, Senior Vice President of Infosys Technologies Ltd. and a recent meeting with the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry that was very interesting.

2. Parting words from Aaron Forsberg, Economic Officer and US Embassy liaison to the Asia Business Committee

Aaron will be moving on to the US Embassy in Iraq in early July. Aaron has been our liaison from the US Embassy and has been a tremendous supporter to our committee the last couple years.

3. Adding "engagement" to committee activities

Discussion of possible advocacy activities by the committee in the area of job mobility in Asia and immigration reform in Japan. We will be providing background on some of the groundwork we have been doing and would welcome ideas and comments to help set the direction. The objective would be to create some opportunities to engage with Japan government agencies and other organizations on topics related to Asia.
