Please join the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Paralympics Task Force for its regular monthly meeting to hear the latest on the bid and its prospects, and what we are doing to contribute to victory. This month will feature some very special guests: we are fortunate to be joined by representatives from the competing teams at the World Blind Sailing Regatta which is currently underway in Miura, Kanagawa-ken.

Our guests will share their experiences in international competition, including what it's like competing as a blind athlete and how sport contributes to personal development and empowerment.

Here is a sample of comments from one of the athletes:

"For me, sailing's an awesome sport, and I have learned a lot, both on and off the racecourse. Competitive sailing is a means by which I can meet and overcome challenges and develop new skill sets, so necessary in order for me to be competitive. Additionally, it enables me to have the toughness to deal with the more important challenges - the challenges of life. Sailing is also a way in which I can educate the public at large as to our abilities in spite of the fact that we are blind or visually impaired."

A signature book at Tokyo American Club to collect 2020 signatures in support of the bid will also be available - please be sure to add your name!
