U.S. Department of Energy Deputy Secretary Daniel Poneman will visit Tokyo in mid-December and would like to meet with ACCJ members to discuss current trends in energy use, green technology, and U.S.-Japan energy cooperation. The future of energy, and in particular nuclear energy's role in Japan, became a topic of worldwide attention following the tragic nuclear events at Fukushima Dai-ichi Nuclear plant earlier this year.

Japan's energy policy is currently under review. The future of Japan's energy mix and the role of the public and private sectors in supporting ongoing energy development in the country are areas we are all watching with great interest.
