Come see historical Japan and support Tohoku's recovery by visiting Kesennuma and Rikuzentakata! This is also a chance for ACCJ members to welcome foreign government and business leaders visiting Japan for APEC/APCAC. On this two-day, one night trip, we will see firsthand how Tohoku is approaching recovery with visits to the famous and now re-opened Otokoyama Sake Brewery and the historic Chusonji and Motsuji Temples in Hiraizumi, a world heritage site. We will travel by bullet train and stay at a traditional Japanese ryokan (inn) with a traditional onsen (Japanese hotsprings baths). The trip departs from Tokyo Station at 8:10 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, and returns to Tokyo station around 16:00 on Sunday, March 4. Logistical Arrangements that will be taken care of for you include: Shinkansen bullet train tickets, chartered bus, simple ryokan accommodations, and all meals. Come join us! Casual clothing with sturdy walking shoes and a warm coat, hat, and gloves are recommended. The group meets 8:10 a.m., Saturday morning at Tokyo Station Nihonbashi Gate, on Eitai Doori, and returns Sunday evening, March 4. On the train back to Tokyo, we would love to engage your input and ideas on how ACCJ can support recovery in Tohoku.

Note: ACCJ events are for ACCJ members and their guests only. To learn more about becoming an ACCJ member, see the Membership section of this site or contact the Membership Services Department at info@accj.or.jp / (03) 3433-7304.
