Commercial Membership (CS or CM)
To apply for a Commercial Membership, please download the application form and submit it as per the instructions on the form. In addition, you must have the following required items:

Sponsor (Your sponsor must be a current ACCJ member.)
Organizational Nationality (The Representative Member in a CS or CM Membership with more than 50% U.S. equity is granted ACCJ voting rights.)

* For individuals living overseas or over 100 kilometers away from the Tokyo, Nagoya, or Osaka ACCJ offices, a sponsor is not required.

ACCJ memberships renew automatically on the annual anniversary of the date on which you became a member. The entrance/transfer fee for any member is 15,000 yen. Unless otherwise stated, membership privileges are restricted to enrolled members only and are not transferable.

FAQs

What do I do if I don't have a sponsor?
If you do not have a sponsor, please leave the sponsor field blank on the application. The Membership Department will contact you to introduce you to committee chairpersons.

What happens next?
For members applying for a NEW Commercial Membership, the ACCJ Membership Department will contact you about payment of the entrance fee and the annual dues. Applications received before the 20th of the month will be reviewed by the Constitutional Membership Committee for their formal approval. After confirming payment and the Committee's approval, the new memberships become active on the first business day of the following month.

How soon can I get involved?
Since we would like you to start benefiting from your ACCJ membership right away, you can participate in Chamber activities even before your membership is formally approved! Since your Member ID has not been assigned yet, please contact the ACCJ Membership Department during this period and we will handle event signups for you.

NOTE: Applicants for new Commercial Membership, Individual Membership, and Non-Resident Membership are required to pay the entrance fee and annual dues before attending events.

When do I receive my Member ID and password?
After your membership becomes active, we'll send you a welcome package by postal mail. The welcome package includes your copy of the ACCJ Membership Directory, your Member ID and password for access to the online Member Data Center, committee signup information, and other relevant materials. Your subscription to the ACCJ Journal magazine will also start from that month.
