Companies operating overseas, such as foreign companies that invest in Japan, or Japanese companies doing business abroad, need that extra leg-up to compete on a level playing field or even give them an advantage. A Commercial Membership to the ACCJ gives such companies exactly the leg-up that they need in the form of unparalleled information, networking and advocacy.
Any legal entity which
(1) is established under applicable Japanese law as either a stand-alone entity, a parent company or a subsidiary or as an affiliate of any legal entity, established under applicable Japanese or non-Japanese law or
(2) has a representative or branch office in Japan, and which is interested in supporting the Chamber and its purposes and activities, shall be eligible to apply for a Commercial Membership irrespective of its ultimate control or head office location.
There are two types of commercial memberships: Corporate Sustaining Membership (CS) and Company Membership (CM).
Corporate Sustaining Membership (CS)
One of the main benefits of Corporate Sustaining Membership is that it offers a substantial discount to encourage large-scale participation in ACCJ activities, in that it includes one Representative Member and an unlimited number of Additional Members. Annual dues: 1,200,000 yen
One-time entrance/transfer fee: 15,000 yen for each member
Company Membership (CM)
For smaller companies that may not seek participation by a large number of its employees, Company Membership may be a better fit. The membership includes one Representative Member, and any additional employees may join for an additional fee. CM members retain a number of the other exclusive benefits as CS members, though on a more limited basis. Visit the
