Ever notice that opera singers can sing really loud? An opera singer can project their voice over an orchestra right to the back of a large

auditorium without the benefit of a microphone or speakers. In this

version of Leadership Conversations, we will discuss how Akiko Otao, an opera singer who also teaches actors, singers and children, can teach you to develop a strong and commanding voice through posture, breathing and the proper mental attitude.

Ms. Otao will demonstrate by singing a few arias and talk about her

experiences as a trained professional opera singer. If you would like to develop your ability to project your voice during meetings and other public settings, this event is for you. You won't be required to sing, but you may walk away humming!

Having graduated from the Hartt School of Music at the University of

Hartford in Connecticut, Ms. Otao is currently the Vocal Director of the Tokyo International Players.

Leadership Conversations is a program that is highly interactive,

featuring a short presentation by the speaker, a moderated discussion of the central ideas, and activities and exercises designed to strengthen your voice.
