How do you attract and retain the best executives to work for your company in fast growth markets like China? Who has the upper hand...local companies or multinationals...and why? What types of people are best able to lead and grow organizations in such environments? With decades of experience as an international consultant and academic, Dean John Quelch of CEIBS is well-placed to answer these questions. Leading universities and business schools like CEIBS are also part of the global war for talent, both as recruiters of faculty and as recruiters of students to their degree programs. John will discuss the trends in global human resources that he's seen as Dean of London Business School in Europe, as Senior Associate Dean of Harvard Business School and now as Dean of CEIBS, the leading business school in China. Bio: John Quelch is Dean of CEIBS, the highest ranked business school in China. He has also served as Dean of the London Business School and as Senior Associate Dean and the Lincoln Filene Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, where he taught to senior executives in the Advanced Management Program. Quelch is also an associate in research at the Fairbank Center of Chinese Studies at Harvard University, Fellow of the Harvard China Fund and member of the Harvard China Advisory Board. His latest book, All Business is Local, has been heralded as counterintuitive and is a timely reminder that not all markets are global and even those that are, have local foundations.
