Do you get nervous when making a speech or presentation? Break out into a cold sweat when asked to address shareholders, staff or clients? Don't worry. Most people do. Studies show that public speaking is our number one fear. But it doesn't have to be. With organization, knowledge, and practice, just about anyone can become a better public speaker. It just takes a bit of work. In this seminar, veteran journalist and communications trainer Mike DeJong offers his strategies for effective communications. The training will concentrate on two areas: verbal and non-verbal communication. Improving skills in these areas helps a speaker grab and hold an audience and deliver content that is engaging and/or compelling. Mike DeJong is Editor-in-Chief of the ACCJ Journal and holds a Master's Degree in Communication and Culture from York University. A former broadcaster at NHK, he has conducted presentation and media training seminars for dozens of corporate clients and taught speech and media studies courses at the University of Maryland Asia.
NOTE 1: Due to space constraints, participation is restricted to ACCJ members only and will be limited to the first twenty signups NOTE 2: This meeting is OFF THE RECORD
