Disagreements are simply inevitable. The issue of how to deal with these situations does not go away. Many people try to dodge or ignore the issues to avoid disagreements. Be proactive and gain insights into your personality and into how you react when you must deal with those inevitable differences of opinion. Face the issues and learn to deal with them in an agreeable and professional way.
You will learn to express your opinions in ways that allow for greater acceptance, facilitate agreeable outcomes, and result in improved productivity. In the long term, the ability to successfully resolve disagreements and issues results in greater mutual respect and more positive relationships.
After this session, you will be able to:
- Identify your personal "hot buttons" and their role in your disagreements.
- Communicate your opinions using techniques which lead to greater acceptance by those who disagree with you.
- Apply a formula for contributing ideas and disagreeing in an agreeable way.
- Stand your ground, but do not damage the relationship.
Dr. Greg Story, President of Dale Carnegie Training Japan, combines the 101 years of experience of the Dale Carnegie Training organization with his 20 years of experience in leading companies in Japan, to effectively address this common issue.
