With offices in New York and London, and a relationship with Japan and the ACCJ going back to 1980, Mr. Richard Goldstein is familiar to many ACCJ members. Richard's last presentation for the ACCJ was in 2010, and it seems like a good time to get an update on the state of expatriation law and other U.S. immigration matters from a pre-eminent immigration law practitioner.
Richard will update us on the current state of expatriation (renunciation of U.S. citizenship), looking at procedures, numbers (increasing), and reasons (varied). He will also touch on related issues of relevance to U.S. citizens living abroad with citizens of more than one country in the household (both with and without U.S. green cards).
Although expatriation is the central topic, Richard is fully up to date on commercial visa matters and will also be able to update us on the state of practice regarding business visas into the U.S.
There will be time for Q & A.
