Join us for a panel discussion including case studies on how to select and create a superlative office within an appropriate budget, and to ensure that your organization is maximizing the value of its investment.

In relocating or opening an office in Tokyo, costs can be at best difficult to manage and at worst are prohibitive or can significantly hamper a company's ability to operate effectively. Landlords can often be rigid and tenants struggle for leverage in dealing with building owners. Leases, furniture, fixtures and equipment also tend to be priced very high in comparison to other markets, and the comparative quality does not necessarily justify the investment made.

Our panel will discuss creative and cost-effective strategies on how office space can become a significant tool that can enhance employee retention, employee effectiveness and collaboration, lead to a healthier and more productive office, and in the end lead to higher profitability.

Our three panelists will draw upon their considerable experience in the Tokyo market to address this subject from diverse perspectives.

Panelists:

Gregory Lyon: Gregory Lyon has been in Asia since 1997 and in Japan for 13 of those years. He was sales manager for Herman Miller Japan, covering both the Japanese and Korean markets, and left in 2008 to start an independent furniture and office product distribution company, Gregory Lyon, Inc., where he focuses on the MNC market in Japan.

Gael Austin: As partner and president of PMC, the Japan-based consulting firm he joined in 1975, Gael Austin has been continuously involved in helping foreign firms in setting up and developing their businesses in Japan in various fields such as fashion, lifestyle consumer goods, software, high-tech, and automobiles.

David Doyno: Dave Doyno is president of Miyako Jisho KK, a small real estate brokerage and consulting company. Miyako Jisho is dedicated to representing tenants in office and industrial space negotiations. Dave's real estate career covers 30 years in the U.S. and Japan, working as a manager, owner, buyer, seller, developer and tenant representative.
