In this talk, Betsy Lahue will share some of her insights about the market access process and discuss the global trends in the use of health outcomes and health economic information by global healthcare decision-makers. She will discuss which metrics and processes are currently being applied, share her perspective on methodology debates and offer ideas for how industry leaders can prepare for success in meeting these new requirements.

Though health technology assessment (HTA) and cost effectiveness/health economic studies are not a requirement in Japan for approval or pricing, there is a movement by the MHLW to use HEOR data more in future decision making.

Ms. Betsy Lahue is Worldwide Vice President at Becton Dickinson and Company and is responsible for the company's health economists, outcomes researchers and market access associates. Betsy's work over the past decade has been to quantify unmet needs in health systems and develop the outcomes and economic evidence required for product adoption with healthcare decision-makers.
