Featured Committee: Chubu - Aerospace Industry Subcommittee
The Aerospace Industry Subcommittee in Chubu (AIS Chubu) primarily serves as a venue for exchanges between Chubu-region U.S. aerospace manufacturers, Japanese government officials and aerospace companies to discuss issues of interest regarding U.S.-Japan commercial and government aerospace programs.
We hosted a speaker event titled as "Supplier Quality Management: Build It Right The First Time" on February 27 and below is the event review.
Event Review: Supplier Quality Management: Build It Right The First Time (2/27/13)
The Subcommittee's very own Britt Creamer presented a very fascinating look into the importance of quality and getting it right the first time. The visual presentations helped reiterate the significance quality plays on any given day throughout the world in aerospace, or within any industry. He provided examples of different industries trials and tribulations and then prioritized the value of quality in those companies.
Britt reminded everyone of the importance of continuous improvement. He briefly touched upon Deming, Juran, Crosby, and Ishigawa philosophies and mentioned current Six Sigma efforts. The case study that was provided showed how Quality initiatives have not changed throughout time. The same quality issues and resolutions that company's had back in 1950's are still applicable today. Britt also was able to give us insight as to how these very same principles can be applied to any industry as well as in our own personal daily lives.
Hopefully this event has brought us all a little closer to getting it right the first time.
