Formed in 1995, the International Coach Federation (ICF) is a leading

global organization, with over 17,000 members in over 100 countries,

dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high

professional standards, providing independent certification, and

building a network of credentialed coaches.



Before becoming a coach in 2003, Mr. Modell practiced law for over 28

years at several major law firms in Washington, D.C. Most recently, Mr.

Modell was a Partner, then Of Counsel, at Dickstein Shapiro LLP,

specializing in civil litigation of large, complex cases.



Mr. Modell is also a professional mediator and helped to found the

Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County, Maryland, a private,

non-profit community mediation center that provides mediation and

meeting facilitation services to county residents. He earned his J.D.

from the University of Virginia School of Law and his B.A. from Yale

University, and served as an officer in the United States Air Force.
