Over the past few months, committee leadership has been involved in a

number of activities that could be of interest to Asia Business

Committee members. We would like to invite members to join us for a

special committee meeting in the ACCJ boardroom. We will be discussing

two topics of potential interest:



1. In 2010, Japan had a record number of visitors with over 74% coming

from Asian countries. Could visitors from Asian countries be the source

of a new surge in consumer demand in Japan? We will be providing some

interesting statistics and speaking about Japan's plans to increase

visitors to Japan to 25 million per year by 2018.



2. It appears that the Japanese government is getting serious about

joining the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). We will provide a general

overview of where things stand regarding the TPP as we approach the

upcoming APEC meeting in Hawaii, November 12-13th.
