Please join the ACCJ, the America-Japan Society, Inc., the Japan-America Society of Yokohama, the America-Japan Society of Tama Tokyo and the American State Offices Association in sending off the new Japanese Ambassador to the United States, Kenichiro Sasae, at a luncheon with the Ambassador and Mrs. Sasae. This exclusive event is being held in Ambassador Sasae's honor and will be an opportunity to meet and speak personally with the incoming Japanese Ambassador to the United States.
Ambassador Sasae entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1974. He served as Executive Secretary to the Prime Minister and Deputy Director-General of the Foreign Policy Bureau. After these positions, he served as Director-General of the Economic Affairs Bureau (2002), and Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau (2005). In 2008, he was appointed as Deputy Minister and Vice-Minister in August 2010. Mr. Sasae will deliver remarks on the subject of current and future U.S.-Japan Relations.
