On January 11th 2013, Japan's supreme court ruled against MHLW's ban on Internet over-the-counter drug sales. The reverse victory came only after 3 years of fierce battle and lost business for Kenko.com. But is it over? Not quite. MHLW has recently set up an expert committee to discuss appropriate rules for Internet drug sales. So what happens next?

Genri Goto, founder and CEO of Kenko.com, will share his experiences in this case, key challenges in dealing with Internet regulatory issues and ideas for next steps. Those of us who have a stake in healthcare and/or the Internet should not miss what he has to say about online business.

About Genri Goto:
1967 Born in Oita into the family of pharma business since 1920.
1989 Graduated from the University of Tokyo with bachelor's degree in Basic Science.
1989 Joined Andersen Consulting (now Accenture)
1994 Founded Healthy-Net Corp., predecessor to Kenko.com.
2000 Kenko.com website goes live.
2004 IPO: Kenko.com listed on Mothers section of Tokyo Stock Exchange.
2007 Established Kenko.com U.S.A. Inc.
2009 Established Kenko.com Singapore Pte. Ltd.
2009 Kenko.com passes \10 billion ($100m) annual sales milestone, following five years of 36% average annual growth.
2012 Entered into business alliance with Rakuten
2012 Established Kenko.com China, focusing on e-commerce in Chinese Market
2013.1. Victory over Japan's supreme court case on Internet over-the-counter drug sales. Reassumed sales of class 1 & 2 drugs.
