Review: Luncheon with Ms. Susan Roos

The Women in Business Committee welcomed Ms. Susan Roos to speak to ACCJ members and guests on the challenges women face in the workplace, both in Japan and around the world. In total, 60 men and women packed into the Tokyo American Club's Manhattan Room to listen to Ms. Roos give a thought-provoking speech on how women can further succeed in business, and issues facing Japanese society in regards to gender equality.

On a broad scale, Ms. Roos cited the need for flexible work hours and better child care systems to support families. She also spoke on a smaller scale about what women can do as individuals to support each other and change corporate culture in Japan. Following her speech, Ms. Roos led an incredibly lively and informative Q&A session that raised many key issues.
