Members Take Advantage of U.S. CBP's "Fast Pass" Global Entry Program

Tired of long lines going through Customs when you go back to the United States?

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you are eligible to join "Global Entry," the U.S. Customs and Border Protection's (CBP) Trusted Traveler Fast Pass Program, which allows you to avoid the long lines at U.S. Immigration points and speed through a Special Fast Pass lane.

The Global Entry application costs USD $100 and those approved for participation can remain members of the program for 5 years. Those interested can apply to join Global Entry at:
http://www.globalentry.gov/howtoapply.html

After an applicant's application has been processed and conditionally approved, the next step is to schedule an interview at an international airport in the U.S. (listed at: http://www.globalentry.gov/enrollmentcenters.html).

In large part due to the efforts of Jeff Bernier and our friends at the CBP office in the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, ACCJ members were able to conduct their interviews for enrollment in Global Entry at the ACCJ office in Tokyo, instead of waiting for their next trip to a major American airport to complete the interview. U.S. CBP officials came to the ACCJ September 19 and 20 to conduct interviews, enrolling around 40 ACCJ members and family members in the Global Entry Program.

Thanks to Jeff Bernier and the ACCJ, we will be zooming through U.S. Immigration for the next 5 years without having to stand in the normal lines!
