September 7th (Wed.), 2011 as four successful businesspeople from Nagoya discuss strategies
they used to overcome challenges they faced and achieve success in the workplace!
At various times in our careers we all face challenges in the workplace but we all have the ability
to overcome challenges. In doing so, we grow, and become better able to move forward and
overcome future challenges.
Come hear their stories and share some of your own as we explore the issue of overcoming
challenges in the workplace together.
*Nao Geisler, President, Geisler Group
Graduated from Kwansei Gakuin University and worked for Pfizer, Inc. for eight years.
While she was working for Pfizer, Inc., she founded the Kakuozan International Preschool in
2007. She now works as President of the Geisler Group.
*Darrell Harris, Manager of the Secretarial Section, Oak Lawn Marketing, Inc.
As manager of the secretarial section for Oak Lawn Marketing Inc. (OLM), Darrell Harris is
responsible for the daily operations of the secretarial, translation and concierge
departments. Prior to his work at the OLM group, Harris worked in the fashion, IT, radio,
entertainment, and teaching industries. His diverse background and experiences enabled
him to learn about product branding, the power of the media, the importance of retail, and
online sales.
*Michiyo Yakushiji, M.D., Graduate School Professor, Aichi Mizuho College
Graduated from Tokyo Women's Medical University and Kyushu University. From 2003 to
2010 she was a member of a governmental committee for the Cabinet Secretariat and was
the first female candidate to run in the 2011 Aichi gubernatorial election. She actively
promotes health care reform while she teaches at Aichi Mizuho College.
*Hisashi Yokoi, Labor and Social Security Attorney & President of NPO BitL
Utilizing his occupational background, he is committed to getting involved in NPOs and
Nagoya-shi/Aichi-ken committees that focus on working issues regarding diversity, work life
balance and fathering. He is an advisor for many well-known companies・HR departments,
and has given speeches on these issues for companies, universities and economic
organizations.
