Nick Benes, after leading the FDI Committee over ten years and

successfully spearheading the recent Growth Strategy Task Force, has

decided to step down as Chair of the Committee in order to focus on his

leadership role at The Board Director Training Institute of Japan. The

ACCJ President has approved Ken Lebrun, formerly a Vice Chair of the

Committee, as the new Chair.



As part of the leadership change, we would like to invite interested

Committee members to attend a working meeting to discuss the future

agenda and activities of the Committee. In the face of a precipitous

decline in FDI because of the appreciating yen, the stagnant economy and

after-effects from the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami, the Japanese

government needs concrete policies to encourage FDI now more than ever.

We hope committee members will come with their suggestions for advocacy

initiatives, speaker events and networking opportunities.
