Please join us for a special opportunity to learn about the current global circumstances surrounding rare earths and an update on the current embassy

and committee activities.

We are excited to have Mark A. Smith, President and CEO of Molycorp, Inc., present the Sustainable Learning segment on the supply of critical rare

earths and its impact on Japan. Molycorp owns and operates one of the world's largest, most fully developed rare earth mines and oxide manufacturing facilities outside of China, located in Mountain Pass, California. Against the backdrop of very tight global supply of critical rare earth materials and the strong need by Japanese industry for such materials, Molycorp is completing an $895 million modernization and expansion of its Mountain Pass facilities, and is ramping up production of

rare earth materials significantly to help meet such demand.

The company recently opened an office in Japan to assist its support of the Japan market, and Mr. Smith is visiting Tokyo to host a formal office

opening reception on November 18. As part of his visit, Mr. Smith will be present to share his insights with our ACCJ committee members regarding the

current global circumstances and importance of rare earths. This is a special opportunity by invitation only that we encourage you to attend.

More information about Molycorp and Mr. Smith can be found at the following

Thereafter, Kendrick Liu, Environmental/Energy Officer at the U.S. Embassy, will provide an overview of the U.S. Embassy's recent activities related to energy and environment matters in Japan.

This will be followed by an update of recent activities and initiatives of the committee.
