Web-based lead generation is a challenge for most of us. The internet is known to be a treasure trove, but getting useful leads often proves to be more difficult than it seems. Then privacy laws make for additional challenges as you try to understand what you are legally allowed to do.

Our panel of experts will take you through the process of web-based lead generation and provide knowledge and tips on how to gather data, and analyze the data to generate leads while at the same time remaining legally compliant.

Online Lead Generation and Data Mining:

Hiroto Tokusei is an internet expert specializing in product management and marketing. He is VP Marketing-Lead Generation for Gengo, a rapidly growing cloud sourced translation platform, and is in charge of user acquisition and B2B lead generation. Before joining Gengo, he was a senior product manager with Google Japan where he is credited with driving YouTube’s exponential growth in Asia-Pacific from 2007 through 2010.

The Analysis:

Jim Kocis, a recent arrival to Japan, is an associate partner with IBM's Global Business Services. Jim has over 20 years of experience in business analytics and has expertise in the management and analysis of structured and unstructured data. Jim was a contributor to the IBM and Oxford University study covering professionals in 95 countries and 26 industries titled: "Analytics, The Real World Use of Big Data" (2012). Jim holds an MBA from The University of Michigan.

The Law:

David Case is an intellectual property and information technology attorney with more than 20 years experience and has been employed at White & Case in Japan since 2002. His expertise includes IP, IT, and e-commerce-related matters concerning data privacy. David is a member of the New York Bar Association, a registered foreign attorney in Japan, and has served as co-chair of the ACCJ’s Privacy Law Task Force.
