[Event Review] Women in Leadership - Breakfast with Ms. Susan Roos

The ACCJ Chubu Chapter, Women in Business and External Affairs Committees hosted Ms. Susan Roos (10/26/2012), a leading employment attorney and wife of the U.S. Ambassador to Japan, John Roos, for a thought-provoking speech event on the challenges women face in the workplace in Japan.

Ms. Roos used number of studies and facts to highlight the issue, shared her experiences as a working mother, and gave valuable suggestions on how individuals can help improve the working environment in Japan for both women and men.

The audience consisted of people from both Western and Japanese backgrounds, both genders and a variety of professions. The speech was very informative and also very personal to many of the attendees. In the Q&A session, the audience was able to share their experiences and interact with Ms. Roos on the issue of women in the workplace in Japan.

The event was very successful. It provided the opportunity to educate, promote and exchange ideas on an important issue Japan facing today.
