Event Review: The Bank of Japan (BoJ) and You (Kansai Event)

The Kansai Business Programs Committee was very fortunate to host this timely presentation by Mr. Shuji Kobayakawa, a senior official of the Bank of Japan's Monetary Affairs Department on March 27, 2013.

Mr. Kobayakawa's presentation covered how the Bank of Japan views recent developments of the Japanese economy and what actions it is taking to overcome deflation. He elaborated on the bank's policy measures that are aimed at strengthening the economy's growth potential. He also provided viewpoints on the implications of such initiatives on business in Japan.

His presentation was followed by a very active Q&A session that was accented by such key phrases as "very enlightening presentation" and "felt encouraged" (by the bank's views on the economy).
