U.S. medical devices and diagnostics companies account for more than half of the Japanese market and play a critical role in the provision of quality patient care in Japan.
The ACCJ works closely with AdvaMed, U.S. largest medical devices and diagnostics industry organization, and AMDD, largest U.S. medical device and diagnostic industry representative in Japan, with the support of the U.S. Commerce Department. Also working in alliance with JFMDA, JACRI, EBC, and EUCOMED.
Objectives
- To improve the welfare of Japanese patients through the adoption of advanced medical technologies.
- To work closely with the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to encourage further deregulation and promote adequate reimbursement, cooperating with domestic industrial associations and other healthcare bodies.
- To regularly inform member companies on Pharmaceuticals Affairs Law and other regulations.
- To convey the value of medical technologies to the public through Public Awareness Campaign, patients advocacy programs, Diet and policy makers.
