Membership Categories
All ACCJ memberships are continuous but are billed on a 12-months cycle that starts the month your membership is approved. The entrance/transfer fee for any member is 15,000 yen. Unless otherwise stated, membership privileges are restricted to enrolled members only and are not transferable.
Commercial Memberships (CS/CM)
For Companies, Firms, Institutions, and Educational Organizations
Any Legal Entity which (1) is established under applicable Japanese law as either a stand-alone entity, a parent company or a subsidiary or as an affiliate of any Legal Entity, established under applicable Japanese or non-Japanese law or (2) has a representative or branch office in Japan, and which is interested in supporting the Chamber and its purposes and activities, shall be eligible to apply for a Commercial Membership irrespective of its ultimate control or head office location.
1. Corporate Sustaining Membership (CS)
Annual dues ¥1,200,000
One-time entrance/transfer fee = ¥15,000
Corporate Sustaining membership offers a substantial discount to encourage large-scale participation in Chamber activities, and includes one Representative Member and the right to enroll an unlimited number of Additional members. CS membership gives you opportunities for maximum involvement and visibility.
Company logo and name will appear on the ACCJ website with a link to company website. Company name and a brief description will appear in the annual Membership Directory, as will listings and photos of enrolled members. Company will also be recognized by name on the “CS Wall” in the ACCJ Tokyo office lobby.
Event Sponsorship Program (ESP) and membership campaign sponsorship promotional opportunities are available, and company can receive one free ESP per year.
Representative members from companies deemed to be U.S.–controlled can vote on constitutional matters and in Chamber elections and attend exclusive CEO-level events.
2. Company Membership (CM)
Annual Dues ¥180,000
One-time entrance/transfer fee = ¥15,000
Includes one Representative Member. Annual dues for each Additional Member are ¥75,000 for resident and ¥30,000 for non-resident. Along with a link from the ACCJ website to yours, your organization's name and a brief description appear along with the names and photos of enrolled members in the annual Membership Directory.
Event Sponsorship Program (ESP) and membership campaign sponsorship promotional opportunities are available.
Representative members from companies deemed to be U.S.–controlled can vote on constitutional matters and in Chamber elections.
Associate Memberships
For individuals not associated with, representing or sponsored by an organization
3. Individual Membership (IM)
Annual Dues ¥75,000
One-time entrance fee = ¥15,000
For individuals not associated with, representing, or sponsored by an organization. You are listed by surname without a photograph in the annual Membership Directory.
4. Nonresident Member (N)
Annual Dues ¥30,000
One-time entrance fee = ¥15,000
For individuals living overseas or over 100 kilometers away from the Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya ACCJ offices. Enables you to become part of a global network of entrepreneurs, scholars, companies, and individuals doing business in Japan. You will be listed by surname without a photograph in the annual Membership Directory.
