  Advocacy Overview


The ACCJ supports the collective interests of its members by proposing changes to improve the environment for international businesses in Japan. Through an active advocacy program, the ACCJ represents these interests to both the Japanese and American governments. The ACCJ also contributes to the shaping of public opinion through its relations with fellow business organizations, academics and think tanks, the press, and others.

Viewpoints A brief paper that expresses the Chamber's official position on a specific issue affecting the business environment.

Public Comments The ACCJ's response to government calls for comments on proposed policy changes.

Publications Addressing a broad range of ACCJ advocacy concerns.

D.C. Doorknock Annual trip to Washington D.C. to discuss current issues in person with U.S. officials and politicians.

Diet Doorknock A coordinated advocacy event to meet and exchange views with Japanese political leaders.
