The ACCJ keeps a close watch on regulatory developments affecting member business interests and offers specific comments and recommendations on draft laws, ordinances, and policy reports through the Japanese government's public notification and comment system. The system allows interested parties such as individuals, companies, and organizations to provide their written comments on proposed policy changes before they become law. The ACCJ actively lobbied for this system and hopes to contribute to its success. ACCJ committees closely monitor ministry websites, coordinate the comment submission process, work with the ACCJ staff to arrange meetings between ACCJ members and government representatives, and track issues through the remainder of the policy process.
For more information on ACCJ public comment submissions, please contact the External Affairs Department at (03) 3433-7358.
