Our committee is focused on improving the environment for working women in Kansai and increase diversity and its business benefits among ACCJ members via actively participating in the diversity related activities and leading Walkathon charity event with CSC committee.

Objectives

• Increase awareness of diversity and its business benefits among ACCJ current and potential members
• Network women and men who are interested in diversity
• Lead activities to improve the environment for working women in Kansai, esp. Walkathon and its donation to non-profit organizations

2008 Achievements

• Walkathon donation recipient selection
• Diversity awareness activities at 2008 Walkathon
• Diversity topic at Business Program
• Collaborate with Softlanding Taskforce team in Tokyo ACCJ (ACCJ’s kanreki CSR activity)

2009 Focus

• Develop a more robust and streamlined process to increase the effective usage of the Walkathon charity funds to increase the CSR impact for ACCJ and sponsor companies
• Work with CSC to make the Walk-A-Thon event more meaningful (on top of enjoyable) to directly appeal “improving the environment for working women” at the event site
• Increase the number of ACCJ new/active members via WIB activities
• Pilot at least 1 event for WIB where we can leverage ACCJ Kansai resources (both companies and individuals) including regular collaboration to BPC
