The ACCJ Women in Business Committee is pleased to welcome Deanne Stewart, the head of MetLife’s business in Australia, to talk about her career journey and experience as a female CEO in the financial industry.
Deanne Stewart joined MetLife in Australia as Chief Executive Officer in July 2014. She is focused on leading the MetLife team to challenge the way life insurance is provided in Australia.
Earlier in her career, Deanne worked at McKinsey and Co. in London after graduating with an MBA from the Yale School of Management. She went on to become Managing Director, Head of International Private Client Businesses for Merrill Lynch Investment Management Inc. She later joined BT Financial in Sydney, where among other roles she led a team of approximately 700 professionals covering BT’s superannuation business, marketing and digital teams, online trading and direct channels.
Deanne is an inspiring leader and speaker who is passionate in her belief that a strong culture and clearly defined purpose drives business success. She will share her insights on:
- Key skills to be a successful female leader at a large multinational company like MetLife;
- How to build a strong culture that brings competition and collaboration to organizations and teams; and
- How to promote and increase female leadership in an organization.
