Underpinning stunning headline numbers the Rugby World Cup 2019 (RWC19) is anticipated to deliver, such as an anticipated boost to national GDP by ¥216.6 billion, it is also nurturing a diverse legacy in Japan.
This once-in-a-generation tournament holds promise for regional economies, businesses, communities and families. RWC19’s ‘Impact Beyond' legacy program has introduced the game to over 460,000 participants across the country, while sponsors are utilizing the tournament as an agent for social change.
Schools and companies alike are celebrating rugby values and their transformative power to drive teamwork, diversity and ambition, all set against the backdrop of an incredible global gender shift: in 2017, more young women started to play rugby for the first time than men and now 29% of all players are female.
Join us on 26 March to discover the bigger picture surrounding the RWC19 tournament, and hear from our panelists:
Keiko Asami, World Rugby Board member, Former Head Coach of Japan Rugby Women's Sevens Team
Koji Tokumasu, President of the Shibuya Rugby Club and Senior Director at the RWC19 Organizing Committee
Fiona Taag, Head of Global Sponsorship & Europe Marketing Communications, DHL
