Drawing on her decades of experience in Washington D.C. in both the public and private sectors, Ms. Wingate will discuss the trends that are shaping the 2016 U.S. presidential election and offer her thoughts on what businesses need to be watching out for.
As Head of Global Government Relations for MetLife, Ms. Wingate manages the company's state, federal, and international government relations teams that are responsible for engagement on public policy and regulatory issues at all levels of government. Prior to joining MetLife, Ms. Wingate was Managing Director of Public Affairs for Nomura Holdings America, Inc. Before that, she served as Managing Director and Head of Federal Government Affairs at Citi from 2003 to 2010. Ms. Wingate has served in a number of public sector positions, including as Assistant United States Trade Representative for Intergovernmental Affairs and Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs. In addition, Ms. Wingate worked in the U.S. Senate from 1997 to 2001, serving as Chief of Staff to then-Senator Sam Brownback.
