We are pleased to welcome former senior executive and former Congressman Mark Kennedy to speak on what it takes to formulate a successful business strategy, as well as to share his thoughts on current affairs in the United States and the U.S.-Japan relationship.
In his forthcoming book, to be published by the Columbia Business School Press, Mr. Kennedy argues that the most sustainable path to consistent profit is to integrate societal concerns into strategy. This requires knowing when and how to collaborate with key players and, also, when to compete. Mr. Kennedy believes that the essential skills in both cases are the same: understanding the motivations of others and attracting a diverse array of societal actors to align with one's goal.
Mr. Kennedy's presentation will include perspectives gained from an unmatched range of global experiences such as being a senior executive at Macy's, a Congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives, and a trade advisor to both President George W. Bush and President Barack Obama. Mr. Kennedy currently heads George Washington University's Graduate School of Political Management.
Join us and "Engage to Win" on May 31.
