Mr. Nobuyuki Hirano Named ACCJ 2021 Person of the Year

The ACCJ is honored to recognize Mr. Nobuyuki Hirano as the ACCJ 2021 Person of the Year.

During a distinguished career at Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc., and as chairman of the Japan-U.S. Business Council (JUBC) from 2017 to 2021, Mr. Hirano worked tirelessly to promote better US–Japan business ties, as well as to further strengthen the international business environment in Japan.

His leadership of the JUBC was especially critical to enabling our two countries to reach important new bilateral agreements on trade, the environment, and the digital economy, which further expanded economic ties and laid the groundwork for growth.

The ACCJ is pleased to recognize Mr. Hirano’s leadership and substantial contributions to the US–Japan relationship and thanks him for his hard work, dedication, and leadership in furthering US–Japan business ties.

We will celebrate Mr. Hirano and present the Person of the Year award to him at a ceremony on April 25 at the Tokyo American Club. Joins us in-person or online here:
